Champions Pub, located at 114 Foster St in Peabody, MA, is a beloved local hotspot that masterfully blends the casual vibe of a classic pub with the satisfying fare of a full-service restaurant. This cozy eatery is famed for its mouthwatering steak tips—tender, juicy chunks marinated to perfection that have earned a devoted following from both locals and visitors alike.
The cuisine here is quintessentially American comfort food, with a distinct focus on hearty grilled meats and pub favorites. Whether you’re indulging in the iconic Champions Famous Steak Tips, savoring the smoky richness of lamb tips, or biting into a perfectly seasoned bacon cheeseburger, every dish bursts with bold, well-balanced flavors that excite the palate. The menu also features an assortment of starters like crispy buffalo fingers, golden onion rings, and tender chicken wings that set the tone for a satisfying meal.
One of the standout qualities of Champions Pub is the authenticity and care put into every plate. Reviewers consistently praise the steak tips for their juicy tenderness and flavorful marinade. Jay (JMan) couldn’t stop raving about the perfect size and richness, affirming he’ll definitely return. Ellen Mandel-Steiner called them “the best steak tips we’ve ever had,” highlighting the lean cuts and delightful glaze, noting the food quality triumphs over the humble surroundings. Christopher Jansen described the steak tips as “melt in your mouth”, reminding diners that the fresh ingredients and hot servings justify any wait to get in.
Indeed, while the pub’s atmosphere is unpretentious—small and buzzing with lively chatter—the focus clearly remains on bringing you a memorable dining experience through quality food and attentive service. Bert Rodriguez remarked on the vibrant Sunday crowd and the friendly bar scene, adding that the classic salad with house dressing perfectly complements the half-beef, half-lamb tips platter.
What truly resonates is the balance Champions Pub strikes between comfort and flavor complexity. Mike Perham’s enthusiasm for the steak tip meal touches on the filling, homemade marinade that clings lovingly to each chunk of beef, paired well with crispy fries that some prefer even over the pub’s famous onion rings. His tip about the piquant hot peppers showcases the kitchen’s attention to bold, adventurous flavors without overwhelming the traditional favorites.
Perfect for a casual lunch or relaxed dinner, Champions Pub invites you to indulge in a menu where every bite tastes like a winning play. Whether you're craving the juicy steak tips, a hearty burger, or one of the generous combo platters, this Peabody gem delivers a consistently satisfying, flavor-packed experience that will have you coming back again and again.
Great steak tips great flavor nice and juicy. Good size ill definitely be back
If I could give it a 4.5 I would. The steak tips were great and had a nice glaze on them. The cuts were lean, tender, and juicy. These are the best steak tips we've ever had. The drive getting there was a bit precarious due to bumpy roads and detours, yet worth the trip. What it lacks in ambience it makes up for in food quality.
We drove specifically for the reputation on how great the steak tips were. I got half beef and lamb tips with fries and it comes with a salad (dressing was great). It did not disappoint, lives up to the hype about the tips. The place is small, but it had a lively atmosphere. Everyone just doing there thing and eating. We sat at the bar. It was a Sunday and it was packed. We had to wait until two seats opened up, but not a big deal. I would definitely go again.
Melt in your mouth steaktips, with great flavor. Everything else was great all fresh ingredients and hot. Be prepared to wait a little before to get in, but we'll worth the wait. Would give it 6 stars.
The best steaktip meal I’ve ever had. Darn right amazing. You get about 6 chunks of steak smothered in their homemade marinade. It’s super filling! I think the side of fries is better than their onion rings. And watch out for their side of hot peppers. They’re very hot! A nice little pub place on Foster Street in Peabody! Prices are fair. Staff is great. I always go here for lunch and it’s never that busy, good time to go! I’ve always heard this place is known for their steak tips, and that’s the only meal I will ever order here! I even order a steak tip meal to go and bring it home for my wife, nice little bonus. They have a small little parking lot to the left of the restaurant. Probably fits about 20 cars and there’s also street parking available. Overall, I would recommend a yummy steak tip lunch at Champions! Come and enjoy!
My customers tell me regularly they have the best steak tips around so I decided to finally try them. Absolutely NOT disappointed! The marinade is incredible and the tips are tender and juicy! Staff is friendly, service very nice! I will be coming back most definitely.
Only thing worth having is the steak tips. Don’t waste your time with the Mac and cheese bites they are horrible. Service was horrible
